Which of these bands do you think will be announced?
Propelled to prominence by a stunning performance at the 2015 CMAs, Chris Stapleton might not be a household name, but he’s written no. 1 songs for artists so famous you’d have to live under a rock to not know. With tour dates currently only planned through July, a stop at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip seems like a possibility. Would you raise a glass of Tennessee Whiskey to that?
Orlando alt-metal band Alter Bridge may be considered by some to be a super group. However, unlike most super groups, Alter Bridge is greater than the sum of its parts with an identity and massive sound distinct from any of its members’ former projects. They are touring in support of their fifth album, “The Last Hero,” and no conflicts stand in the way of them crossing the bridge to the Best Party Anywhere.
Korn is a pioneer and one of the most successful bands of the nü-metal genre, having sold 35 million albums worldwide and earning two Grammy awards and numerous other accolades. They’ll be touring Europe and South America this spring, and returning to the United States in time for festival season. Would it make your life peachy if Korn made their Sturgis Buffalo Chip debut in 2017?
Groundbreaking grunge band Soundgarden has been making hard rock headlines as of late with mentions of a new album being in the works. They’ve also been finding themselves on or near the top spot of several massive rock festivals all over the United States in spring 2017. Their current tour dates extend through May, so it seems like they could swing down to Buffalo Chip this August.
Massachusetts metal band Killswitch Engage are on top of the hard rock world. Their latest album “Incarnate” debuted at no. 1 on the US Top Rock and Hard Rock album charts, and they will be on tour with Anthrax supporting that release this spring. Would an appearance by Killswitch Engage at the Best Party Anywhere flip your switch?
Pop punk practitioners Blink-182 aren’t the first band to blend high energy punk rock with infectious pop melodies, but it is arguable they perfected it and wrote the “How-To” book for any band looking to play that style. They’re currently touring in support of their 2016 Grammy-nominated release, “California,” and August is wide open. Would Blink-182 at the Chip make you drop All the Small Things to attend The Best Party Anywhere?
