WANTED: Tequila Dancers!
If you haven’t heard by now, Pee-wee Herman is coming to town! That’s right, Pee-wee will be joining the festivities at the Legendary Buffalo Chip for the 2010 Sturgis Rally. Pee-wee will be front and center on Sunday and Monday during the Best Party Anywhere. He’ll be lending his celebrity character to the festivities during the kick off celebration of the 2010 Sturgis rally.

Among the great Sturgis Buffalo Chip events like the Legends Ride, a VIP meet and greet and judging the Miss Buffalo Chip Contest Pee-wee has one event he’s looking forward to the most. The World’s Largest Tequila Dance is headed for the record books with official emcee Hank, joined by Miss Buffalo Chip and a few thousand bikers. Pee-wee decided that the best place to embark on his next big adventure was with the people he admires the most: Leather Clad Bikers.

Anyone who was or is a Pee-wee Herman fan knows all about the dance from the cult classic movie ‘Pee-wee’s Big Adventure’. Pee-wee stumbles into a biker bar while trying to make a phone call, and ends up rubbing them the wrong way. In a life-threatening situation, Pee-Wee does his famous dance to the classic ‘Tequila’ song, calms the crowd down and becomes one of the bikers.

Now you can join Pee-Wee and thousands of fans in the Chip’s main entertainment amphitheater and make history. Help Pee-wee orchestrate the wild and rowdy crowd into the world’s largest organized tequila dance. The hilarious scene will be recorded and the footage of the dance will be submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records after the rally.

The World’s Largest Tequila Dance will be held on Sunday, August 8th before The Guess Who take the stage. Something like this can only be done at the best party anywhere so make sure you are part of the fun!

Sunday’s All Access Celebrity Meet & Greet

Looking for a way to start out Rally Week, meet and greet some wonderful celebrities in an intimate setting and benefit great local charities? Look no further than the Buffalo Chip Event Center on Sunday August 8th from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. The Kids & Chrome Foundation will offer you the best chance to kick off the week. You can join us in supporting great charities-the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame (that’s the Chrome part), and a variety of children’s charities in the Black Hills area (that’s the kids part), at the Garden outside the Lichter Museum at the Legendary Buffalo Chip Campground.

For a $125 donation, you will be included in an exclusive meet-and-greet reception with celebrities Pee-Wee Herman, (who is now filming his next movie and opening a new Broadway show in October), the incredibly handsome Lorenzo Lamas, America’s favorite survivor Rupert Boneham, and the Legendary Buffalo Chip’s Rod Woodruff. They will be available for photo ops and to sign some autographs. Also included in the evening is refreshments, food, and unique South Dakota silent and live auction items, including a bicycle custom-designed for Pee-Wee Herman (but you can take it home)!

You also will have a chance to visit this year’s brand new Michael Lichter Exhibit, “Eternal Combustion-30 in the Wind”, featuring 30 custom bikes built by well-known builders. The best deal of all will be for those who contribute $150-they’ll get the meet-and-greet plus a ticket to the evening’s concert featuring The Guess Who and Creedence Clearwater Revisited.

This is Kids & Chromes first year at the Legendary Buffalo Chip campground, so come out, support a good cause, have fun and show the Black Hills where the best people are during the Rally! You can buy tickets for this event online at www.sturgismotorcyclemuseum.com.

A Behind the Scene Look at the Chip, August 3
The Staff at the Chip have been looking forward to welcoming riders home ever since the last motorcycle pulled out of the campground in August 2009. Now, the grounds are getting busier by the day. We found a few first time campers setting up camp and getting out for a ride in the Black Hills.

Our parking crew showed their muscle today, helping welcome home rv’s and campers. Look forward to an easy checking by having your printed email confirmation, the credit card that was used to make the reservation and a photo ID.

After a little pre rally rain shower we were ready to put Roktot on the stage at Bikini Beach. Campers got the first look at what the evening entertainment looks like at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. The dancers were dancing and the music was keeping the crowd entertained. It’s going to be a great year!
