Sturgis, SD (January 5, 2017) – An already crazy attempt by stuntman Doug Danger to make an underpowered vintage motorcycle sail 120 feet through the air across the Buffalo Chip amphitheater is becoming even more dangerous. This celebrated daredevil has agreed to have up to 2,000 live rattlesnakes placed in a pit beneath his path prior to the stunt. Danger plans to jump the pit of rattlesnakes at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017.

Spearfish, SD (December 5, 2016) – Black Hills area high school students are invited to apply for a position in the prestigious Buffalo Chip Challenge 2017 custom motorcycle build program, which offers a chance at significant educational scholarships. Ten students will be accepted to learn valuable mechanical skills and customization techniques through hands-on instruction from industry professionals at Terry Components in Spearfish. The class will meet two to three days per week December through April during after-school hours and on weekends.

Buffalo Chip, SD (July 6, 2016) – A panel of luminaries representing women from a broad cross section of today’s motorcycle industry will take a leading role in the Buffalo Chip’s 2016 Biker Belles^® symposium on Tuesday, Aug. 9. Taking seats on the panel moderated by Marilyn Stemp of the Sturgis Rider Daily and Iron Trader News are BMW Motorrad’s Sarah Schilke, moto-journalist and Iron Lillies co-founder Leticia Cline, Perewitz Cycle Fab’s Jody Perewitz and land-speed record-holder Karlee Cobb. The Buffalo Chip chose this group of panelists due to their influence in the industry and their leading roles in helping to shape the future of motorcycling. Following a ride through the beautiful Black Hills the panel will discuss the theme “Two-Wheeled Transformation” while guests enjoy a catered lunch at The Lodge at Deadwood. The event was created to raise awareness of the passion, diversity and spirit of women in motorcycling and to raise funds for local worthy charities.
