Custom Motorcycle Builders Mix with Fans at Exclusive Charity Breakfast

Buffalo Chip, SD (June 21, 2016) – Custom motorcycle enthusiasts have a rare opportunity to join renowned U.S. and international custom builders and industry luminaries for a meet and greet to benefit educational scholarships during the second annual Flying Piston Charity Breakfast at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip®. Builders displaying in the Buffalo Chip’s 2016 Motorcycles As Art Exhibition, curated by Michael Lichter, will gather with other invited top-name builders to shake hands, sign autographs and pose for pictures with fans and friends. The event, organized by The Flying Piston and sponsored by Jekill & Hyde Exhaust and Yelvinton USA, takes place Sunday, Aug. 7 beginning at 9:30 a.m. at the Big Engine Bar in the Chip’s free-access CrossRoads.

Sturgis Buffalo Chip® Surprises Spearfish Student with Scholarship

Buffalo Chip, SD (June 21, 2016) – Spearfish High School student Logan Lucas was caught off guard Monday while visiting the Sturgis Buffalo Chip®’s office on an errand for his summer job. Buffalo Chip President Rod Woodruff surprised Lucas by announcing that he had been selected to receive a $1,599.89 scholarship courtesy of the Flying Piston Breakfast, a charity event held at the Chip last August. Educational grants awarded to Northern Black Hills students resulting from the Buffalo Chip’s two-year scholarship program now total nearly $19,000.

New Sturgis Buffalo Chip exhibit curated by Michael Lichter to be entitled Skin and Bones

Buffalo Chip, SD (May 24, 2016) – Custom motorcycle craftsmen and tattoo artists study, research and work countless hours over many years, honing the skills required to become experts at their craft. The Sturgis Buffalo Chip offers an exclusive look at some of the worlds’ most notorious builders’ remarkable motorcycle creations as well as a handful of the motorcycling world’s most beloved artists and photographers in its “Motorcycles as Art” display. The 2016 exhibit, curated by eminent photographer Michael Lichter, is titled with the intriguing theme: “Skin and Bones – Tattoo Inspired Motorcycles and Art.” The exhibit is free to the public and will be open from Saturday, Aug. 6 through Friday, Aug. 12 in the Buffalo Chip’s Russ Brown Events Center.

Tradition of Honoring America’s Military Continues at Annual Sturgis Buffalo Chip® Freedom Celebration

Buffalo Chip, SD (May 30, 2016) – A full day of events has been planned to celebrate American freedom and recognize the courage and unbeatable determination of those who have stood ready to give their lives in defense of ours. In recognition of our nation’s valiant veterans, the Sturgis Buffalo Chip has set aside Thursday, Aug. 11, 2016 as its annual Freedom Celebration Day. Several courageous veterans and family members of the fallen have committed to making presentations and imparting personal accounts of patriotism to those who attend. These special guests include those who have offered their lives and sacrificed their limbs and state of well-being in the defense of liberty. The celebration will culminate with a performance by the award-winning country music star Miranda Lambert.

Sturgis Buffalo Chip® to Host Christian Bikers First Annual “Light Up the Hills™” Motorcycle Rally

This gathering of Christian motorcycle clubs, ministries, associations and groups will offer attendees the opportunity to assemble in fellowship and enhance their individual missions.

Sturgis Buffalo Chip® Biker Belles® Reveals “Two-Wheeled Transformation”

The eighth annual Stugis Buffalo Chip®‘s Biker Belles® event, a day of real riders, real stories and real passion, will this year feature a new scenic guided ride and a day of festivities highlighted by a symposium exploring the role the motorcycle plays in transforming lives titled, “Two-Wheeled Transformation.” The event, created to raise awareness of the passion, diversity and spirit of women in motorcycling and to raise funds for local worthy charities will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
